Prince Charles has donated £4.5 million of his Barnstaple, Essex, estate to a charitable group in his name, it has been revealed.
The charity, the Barnstapers Foundation, has been set up to support Barnstoppers pupils, the Prince of Wales has pledged to support them and to help them make the most of the Christmas and New Year.
The donation is part of the £50 million worth of grants made by the Prince to charitable organisations over the next four years.
The Prince will also support the work of the Barnsborough Trust and Barnsdale Community Group in the run up to Christmas, it was revealed.
