In a major blow to the embattled charity Charitable Creek Lodge, it has been donated $10.5 million to support a $10k donation to the charity.
Charitable Creek was set up by former Labor MP Craig Laundy to raise funds for the lodge.
A spokesperson for the Lodge said the donation would be used to support the lodge and its mission of raising awareness of human rights and the environment.
“We are incredibly proud of the contribution of the Charitable creek and are committed to helping to ensure a better future for Aboriginal people and the wider community,” the spokesperson said.
The $10m was part of a $50 million gift from the Federal Government to the lodge, which will also support the Indigenous Community Development Program.
The donation will be used for a number of projects including the Indigenous community development program, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Housing, Aboriginal cultural heritage preservation, Aboriginal services, cultural education and community outreach.
